President's Message
Estate Planning Colleagues,
Hello and Welcome to the brand new California Central Coast Estate Planning Council “CCCEPC.”
I am pleased to be one of the founding members and first Board President of the newly formed CCCEPC. If you’re not familiar with Estate Planning Councils, I highly recommend you check out the website of the national organization: National Association of Estate Planners & Councils - NAEPC of which we are proud new members.
The CCCEPC came about when a group of us—lawyers, a financial planner, and an accountant, had various conversations about the need in the Central Coast for a forum where estate planning professionals in a variety of disciplines could meet and interact with one another, maybe even share a bottle of wine. Some of us had prior experience with Estate Planning Councils in other areas (I myself am a past President of the Riverside County Estate Planning Council) and agreed that was exactly what the Central Coast needed. After several months of planning meetings (and perhaps a shared bottle of wine…or two) the CCCEPC was created with eight founding board members.
Our first general membership meetings were held in March and April with over twenty-five people in attendance, and we look forward to many more. We’ve agreed that we will meet monthly, alternating between North and South County (I’ll never understand the aversion to driving “the grade” but I understand some folks have it!). We’ll also vary locations, just to keep it fun. You can always check our website for the meeting information.
If you’re interested in joining us, please check out our membership requirements. Our goal is building membership with a collaborative group of folks actively engaged in the various aspects of estate planning and seeking to expand their knowledge and their network. It helps if you also enjoy a good happy hour (sparkling wine and non-alcoholic beverages included).
See you at the next meeting!
Teresa Rhyne - Board President
